Welcome to The Worgen of Gilneas

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

I have created this blog to explore the World of WarCraft (by Blizzard Entertainment). I have never played this game, and will not claim to know anything about it. I am familiar with the recent release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, and am simply fascinated by it. Not just by Cataclysm, but the WoW franchise and following in general. I'll get into that in a moment.

Teach Me About The World of WarCraft!

If there is one thing that I DO KNOW about WoW, it is that it has one the most dedicated fan bases in the video game realm. I do not want to insult anyone out there with a false front as to the knowledge that I do have about the game. Just as important, I would like to invite any and all who stumble across this site to correct any information I have that is incorrect.

I appreciate the spirit and the community that is fostered through World of WarCraft. I invite anyone who would like to give any input about the game to comment on this blog, or even write up a full blog post. You guys have the knowledge and the passion, so I formally invite all to contribute and be accredited for participation in this blog. Thank you in advance should you choose comment or create a post!

Why The Worgen of Gilneas?

Well, that's a good question. To be honest, I was originally going to go for "World of WarCraft." I should have known before I even looked that that name would have been taken a long time ago. Then I was going to go for "Cataclysm" and then "WoW Cataclysm." Both were taken as well. So I went online, and just got engrossed in reading about the game. I came across a piece speaking to the new additions to the game (Cataclysm expansion), and found myself asking: what is a "Worgen?" I went to the official WoW website and read:
The Worgen are a race of feral wolf-beasts whose very name inspires fear. Theories regarding their history abound, yet the worgen's origins remain steeped in mystery.
Tell me that's not cool! I read on... the more I found about them, the more I thought to myself that if I were to start playing World of WarCraft, that I would probably choose them from the two new playable races. Of those choices, I liked both, but the Worgen really seemed the coolest. With that said, you now have the reasoning behind this blog's name.

WoW Examined

I'll close with the future intent of simply exploring what World of WarCraft is. What I mean by that is that I will try to make each subsequent post on this blog an update of what I have recently discovered relating to WoW. I assume most of it will be about Cataclysm (due to it's recent release), but who knows? So whether you're for the Alliance or the Horde, thanks again for stopping by and please drop me a line!
